A useful installation starts with a site discussion. Use this checklist to explain your needs and request a clear quote; it is not a do-it-yourself wiring guide.
Define what you need to see
List the entrances, counters and other areas you want covered. Explain what matters in each view, such as identifying a visitor or reviewing a delivery. Point out privacy-sensitive areas that must not be recorded.
Arrange a site assessment
Ask the installer to assess positions, lighting, mounting, cable routes, power and network access. Discuss landlord or building permissions before installation.
Agree on the system and quote
Ask for the camera and recorder models, storage arrangements, included accessories, installation work and any recurring charges. Confirm what remote viewing requires and who will manage access.
Plan handover and support
Before accepting the work, ask for a demonstration of each view, playback and any agreed remote access. Confirm who owns the administrator account, how access is removed and how support is requested. Keep the invoice and configuration details securely.
