If a problem keeps interrupting your work, a clear description helps a technician investigate it. These symptoms are reasons to request an assessment, not a diagnosis by themselves.
Ten symptoms to report
1. The computer will not start. 2. It repeatedly restarts. 3. It freezes during normal work. 4. Error messages keep returning. 5. The screen flickers or stays blank. 6. The keyboard or touchpad stops responding. 7. Charging is unreliable. 8. Connected devices are no longer detected. 9. Fans or other components make unusual noises. 10. Performance has changed significantly during your usual tasks.
Record what happened
Note the model, when the issue began, what you were doing and any recent changes. Photograph the exact error message if it is safe to do so. Explain whether the issue happens on battery, with the charger, or with a particular accessory.
Protect your information
Tell the technician if important files are not backed up. Discuss data handling before handing over the device and do not send passwords or payment details through an enquiry form.
Ask for an estimate
Request an assessment, a breakdown of proposed work, parts availability and expected timing. Agree on the repair before work begins. For smoke, a burning smell or a visibly damaged battery, stop using the device and seek professional assistance.
